Donald Coburn Lodge

Low Care

Low level residential care places are for people who need some minor assistance. Mostly people in low level residential care are ambulant to a degree. Low level residential care generally focuses on personal care services such as dressing, eating, bathing and medication management, accommodation, support services (cleaning, laundry and meal provision) as well as many allied health services such as physiotherapy.

It is important to note that for entry into low level residential care, the applicant would need to have been assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) and approved for permanent low level residential care.

Low Care - Respite

Subject to need and availability, Buckland can also provide low level residential respite care places for short-term care when you need it, and if you intend to return to the community.  Low level residential care respite may be used on a planned or emergency basis, for example if you are ill, or to help if your carer is absent for any reason such as illness or holidays.

You will need an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) low level residential respite approval for admission to our Donald Coburn Lodge, and this approval can be used for up to 63 days in a financial year.

The Facility

Donald Coburn Lodge is a 64 bed low care hostel facility. Each of the 64 single rooms has an en-suite.
