Dear Residents, Family and Friends,

As we near the close of 2023, it's hard to believe how swiftly this year has passed. It's been a year filled with its share of challenges and uncertainties that have impacted us all.

Our facility faced several COVID-19 outbreaks, yet the resilience and dedication of our staff, coupled with effective infection control strategies, have been remarkable. Your firm support and understanding have been instrumental in our success - we are deeply grateful and acknowledge that we couldn't have managed without your help. It's heartening to see us emerge stronger and more grateful for all the blessings we have.

This year, we've seen the Donald Coburn Lodge undergo a transformative renovation, elevating it to a modern, state-of-the-art facility.

Implementing our new meal system presented challenges, but I'm delighted to report that we've achieved a level of satisfaction and expanded choices for our residents.

Since January, the government mandated direct care minutes have been established. Under the scheme, every resident needs to be provided with 200 minutes of direct care per day. Despite the challenges faced by 76% of providers in meeting these targets, I'm proud to say that we've consistently surpassed our direct care minute targets.

We also underwent a comprehensive reaccreditation audit earlier this year, which is crucial for ensuring compliance with aged care quality and safety standards. I'm pleased that Buckland met all 42 standards, and I extend heartfelt thanks to our exceptional team for their commitment to providing top-tier care and comfort.

Please note that our Administration office will be closed from December 22nd to January 2nd. We eagerly anticipate reconnecting with you after the break and are committed to delivering the highest standard of care and services in the upcoming year.
