Facility Update

Dear Residents and Relatives,

We would like to provide you with a facility update as of 15/09/2025.

We currently have 6 residents in isolation with flu symptoms, 4 of the residents reside in DCW, 1 in LRW and 1 in MRW.

2 x residents have tested positive with a respiratory virus named Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) at this stage.

Whilst HMPV is not a reportable infection to the Public Health Unit, as a facility we have to ensure we are completing appropriate actions to ensure resident safety.

We have requested all staff to wear a surgical mask as a preventative measure and we also encourage visitors to wear surgical mask if possible.

All residents in DCW are encouraged to remain in DCW and not attend any activities in the nursing home, these will be completed for DCW residents in the DCW main lounge. DCW residents are also encouraged not to attend activities on the upper level, while we are currently trying to cohort and mitigate risk of spread

Full PPE is to be worn including N95 mask when entering a resident who is in isolations room.

As always please ensure hand hygiene is attended to appropriately at the hygiene stations around the facility.

We request if you are feeling unwell please do not attend the facility in order to protect our residents
