Gastroenteritis Outbreak

Dear Relatives and Friends of Buckland,

Please be advised that we now have an outbreak of Gastroenteritis in our Nursing home. We currently have 13 residents with symptoms of gastroenteritis, 12 residents from the LRW Wing and 1 resident from the DCW Wing.  These residents have been placed in isolation and all remain clinically well. These residents will remain in isolation until a period of 72 hours post symptoms.

In the best interests of our residents and to ensure we limit the risk of spread, we have decided to cancel all activities, exercise classes in the LRW and DCW Wings until further notice.

The Residents Meeting and Food Forum scheduled for Thursday 5th October 2023 at 2:00pm will also be cancelled. We will be in touch with the new scheduled date once the Gastroenteritis outbreak is over.

Gastroenteritis is currently going around in our community and is highly contagious. We ask that if any visitors are feeling unwell that they wait until they are feeling better before visiting. To ensure we mitigate the risk of further spread all visitors should regularly wash their hands and apply hand sanitizer, even when taking loved ones out on day trips.
