Good Afternoon Relatives & Friends of Buckland,

I would like to update you on a number of points for the facility as of 31.05.2024.

We currently have 1 resident in TBW who has tested positive to COVID-19 placing us in an exposure with the Public Health Unit.

The current NSW community surveillance highlights Covid-19 has increased to high levels with RSV continuing at high levels and influenza at moderate levels. Due to the above information, we are now implementing RAT Testing for staff every 3 days as well as the health screening to continue. We would also like to request if visitors can complete a RAT test every 3 days and continue with health screening and signing in.

If you are feeling unwell or have cold and flu symptoms, please stay home to protect our residents and staff. Continue to regularly wash your hands, especially after meals and remember to social distance where possible, make use of outdoor areas.

On another note, Sydney Water have a maintenance issue on street level, at this stage this has not affected the main nursing home, however there is a possibility throughout the day that this may occur. Sydney Water have advised that tankers will be provided to continue our supply of water in the event of any issues that arise.

I would also like to provide you with a refurbishment update.

Firstly, I would like to thank everybody for their cooperation and understanding during this period. There has been a large amount of planning and liaising with both residents and staff to ensure care needs are met with minimal disruption.

The Northwing section of the refurbishment is coming along nicely and the final layer of vinyl flooring has been laid, there are still finishing touches to be completed in this area, however the major part of the works are now complete.

The next step of the refurbishment is moving into the Nursing Home main lounge and reception area. We are liaising with our Diversional Therapy team in regards to the planned activities and when need be moving the activities down to our beautiful main lounge in DCW.

The timbers in C section of LRW have been removed and prepping of this area for the next stages has commenced, again we will work with residents and staff to ensure minimal disruption.

We will continue to provide updates as they occur. Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation at this time.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us on (02) 4752 2500.

Warmest Regards,

Johannes Brockhaus
