Outbreak Update
Dear Families/Relatives, Staff and Stakeholders,
We would like to provide you with a facility update as of 18 September 2025.
A precautionary round of RAT test was conducted yesterday in the COVID-19 positive wing (LRW), which identified two additional COVID-19 positive cases among residents. As a result, the facility is now officially classified as being in a COVID-19 outbreak.
All affected residents are experiencing mild symptoms, have commenced antiviral treatment, and are currently stable. An existing positive case also remains in isolation, is stable, and continues on treatment.
In the DCW wing, residents previously in isolation due to Human Metapneumovirus have now recovered, and the area has been downgraded to an amber zone. One resident remains in isolation with ongoing symptoms of both HMPV and adenovirus. A medical review is currently being followed up with their GP.
There are no outstanding PCR test results for any residents, and no additional residents are currently displaying symptoms. Another round of RAT testing is scheduled for tomorrow, 19 September 2025, and we will continue to provide updates accordingly.
Staff Update and Infection Control Measures
- All staff are required to wear N95 masks and face shields or goggles while in the facility.
- Daily RAT testing is mandatory for all staff prior to entry.
Where possible, we are cohorting staff to specific wings to reduce cross-infection and further mitigate risk. In support of this, staff rooms have now been designated to specific wings to limit cross-over and potential transmission.
Visitor Information
- Visitors are requested to wear surgical masks while in the facility.
- All visitors are also asked to undergo a RAT upon entry.
- N95 masks are available upon request for those who would prefer to use them.
Additional Infection Control Measures
- We are holding daily Outbreak Management Plan meetings.
- The facility is working closely with our Infection Control Lead and Public Health Unit to ensure all actions follow best-practice guidelines.
- HEPA filters remain operational, and we continue to encourage increased ventilation throughout the facility.
- Dining service remains available, however to help prevent further spread, we are encouraging social distancing during meal times and tray service in residents’ rooms where possible.
- Two-step cleaning procedures continue to be implemented across all areas.
- Activities and exercise programs remain isolated to affected wings, and residents are encouraged to wear masks if they wish to participate.
We thank you for your continued support and cooperation in helping us keep our residents safe.
If you have any questions or require further information, please don’t hesitate to contact the facility on 4752 2500.
Best Regards
Facility management
