Dear Residents, Family members, and Friends,

We hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. We are excited to share some wonderful news with you today. Our dedicated team at Buckland has grown stronger, and we are thrilled to introduce our overseas-trained workforce from the Philippines, who have officially begun their first shift today.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Airenn, Julieanne, Sheralyn, Louise, Marian, Monaliza, Angelie, Jerabella, and Akira. These individuals have undergone rigorous training overseas, guided by Australian registered nurses in collaboration with Alphacrucis University. In the coming weeks, they will complete their on-site manual training components and work alongside our experienced staff. We are fortunate to have them with us on a full-time basis for the next four years, and we are excited about this new chapter.

If you happen to cross paths with any of our new team members, we encourage you to take a moment to say hello and extend a warm Australian welcome.

The timing of this workforce expansion couldn't be better. Starting from October 1st, direct care minute targets will become mandatory. While we have consistently exceeded these targets in the past, it often required us to rely on agency employees. With our new skilled team members, we are better positioned to meet these targets consistently and more importantly, provide the best possible care and services to our Residents.

We are also excited to inform you that you may encounter a dozen more new faces in the coming weeks. We have recently initiated a partnership with Acacia Education and Training RTO from Glenbrook to establish a traineeship program. These trainees will undergo part-time on-the-job training over two years, ultimately earning their Certificate III in Aged Care qualification. This program represents another step forward in our commitment to securing a robust workforce, one that ensures Buckland is prepared for any potential workforce shortages in the future.

Your support has been instrumental in our journey, and we are immensely grateful for it. If you have any questions or wish to learn more about our new workforce, the traineeship program, or the labour agreement, please do not hesitate to contact us. We always strive for continuous improvement and eagerly welcome your comments and suggestions to enhance the quality of life and service experience here at Buckland.

Once again, we extend our welcome to our new team members and express our appreciation for your continued trust and support.

Warm Regards,

Johannes Brockhaus

Chief Executive Officer
