Updates to the Upper Nursing Home

Subject: Exciting Updates to the Upper Nursing Home at Buckland

Dear Residents, Relatives, and Friends of Buckland,

In recent months, many of you have shared observations about the stark contrast between the newly refurbished Donald Coburn Wing (DCW) and our upper nursing home. The feedback highlighted that the upper nursing home appeared somewhat outdated compared to the revitalised DCW.

We appreciate your input and are pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has approved a renovation plan for the upper nursing home. This update aims to harmonise its aesthetics with the appealing design of DCW. Given that the nursing home remains fit for purpose, this refurbishment will be less extensive than that of the DCW and we anticipate to complete this project within 12 to 14 weeks.

This work will have minimal disruption to our daily operations and is set to commence Tuesday 7 May. The renovation will include redesigning the nurse stations and common areas, modernizing the reception area, updating the woodwork, replacing the flooring, enhancing the lighting, and repainting the entire facility. Based on the positive feedback from the DCW refurbishment, we will employ the same colour schemes and materials.

Upon completion, we will equip the renovated spaces with furnishings identical to those in the DCW to provide a cohesive look and feel.

We invite you to a meeting to discuss these exciting changes and address any questions you might have. Please join us on Thursday, May 2nd, at 2 PM in the main lounge. The project manager from Reitsma will join us at the meeting to answer any questions or alleviate any potential concerns.

For the execution of this project, we have again partnered with Reitsma Construction, the same team that successfully completed the DCW renovation. Their familiarity with Buckland ensures that the quality of life for our residents will remain unaffected.
