Christmas Day Update
Dear Relatives and Friends of Buckland,
The Public Health Unit has advised us that our residents are currently considered close contacts. If you do decide to take your loved one out on Christmas day or Boxing Day, and these residents test positive to COVID-19 post outing, then yourself and everyone the resident was exposed to will be considered a close contact. You will all have to get tested and isolate as per the NSW health guidelines.
With this being said, both the Public Health Unit and Buckland strongly discourage you from taking your loved one out of the facility throughout this hard lockdown period.
As you know, our highest priority and intentions are always for all of our resident’s and our staff’s safety and wellbeing. With the severity of the new COVID virus strain, radical exposure is something we do not want to risk and is what we have been trying so hard to avoid.
We understand how difficult and emotional these decisions and time is for all of you. Due to this, we have rostered extra Diversional Therapist staff on Christmas day to provide further company and emotional support to the residents.
Lastly, all PCR and rapid test results that we have received so far remain negative.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me via the Nursing Home reception on (02) 4752 2500.
