COVID-19 Exposure - 19th of February 2022
19th February 2022
Dear Residents, relatives, and friends of Buckland,
Last night a new resident who was recently discharged from Hospital returned a positive COVID-19 test during our surveillance testing.
The resident is asymptomatic and was immediately placed in isolation. The resident is located in LRW and full barrier nursing care is in place. All residents in LRW were rapid tested last night and all residents returned negative results.
We are liaising with the Public Health Unit who advised us that we are not considered to be in an outbreak and Buckland is currently being considered as an exposure site and there are no changes to visitation requirements.
Residents are not required to isolate in their rooms and are free to move within their wings. As per the direction of the PHU, all activities are cancelled until further notice.
As we are considered a low risk, visitations can continue at this point. Staff have been segregated and will continue to wear all necessary PPE including face shields.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We will keep you updated daily.
