COVID-19 Exposure Update

Dear Relatives and Friends of Buckland,

I am very glad to announce that the surveillance COVID-19 testing was completed on all residents in LRW today and everyone received a negative result.

Although this is the case, as a precautionary measure, another day of testing will be conducted on Day 6, 23rd February. Due to this, residents are asked to please remain in their wings and activities will be cancelled until further notice.

We have provided this information to the Public Health Unit and are waiting for further advice. We will ensure to advise you and your loved ones of any changes that may occur.

With this being said, Buckland Nursing Home is still considered as an exposure site rather than an outbreak. Therefore, we will not be entering a lockdown and residents are not required to be in isolation. Additionally, there will be no changes to the conditions of entry for visitors.

On the other hand, the infected resident will remain in isolation but is in a stable position and is also asymptomatic. This is a wonderful outcome as the resident has received 3 doses of the COVID-19 vaccination.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we endeavour to keep the health and safety of the residents as our highest priority.

As you know, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us via the Nursing Home reception on (02) 4752 2500. Stay safe and well.

Kindest Regards,

Virginia Mitchell
Facility Manager
