COVID-19 Outbreak: 1pm Update
Dear Relatives and Friends of Buckland,
We are deeply saddened to inform you that a staff member who was PCR tested on the 25th December has received a positive COVID-19 test result today.
The staff member received two negative Rapid Antigen tests, with the most recent test conducted today. Due to this, there is a possibility that the PCR test may be a false positive, however we are currently awaiting further clarification from the Public Health Unit.
As per the direction from the Public Health Unit, Buckland Nursing Home will have to remain in a hard lockdown until further notice.
This lockdown has been extremely hard on all of you as well as your loved ones, especially as it has occurred throughout the season of Christmas and the New Year. Please rest assured that your loved ones are still being cared for by our wonderful team who are doing their best to ensure their optimal well-being.
Additionally, we have our lovely Chaplain who is available and offering her much-needed support to all of our residents, as well as our amazing team of Diversional Therapists.
Furthermore, Skype and Zoom calls will continue to remain available for you to speak with your loved ones. If you would like to organise this, please contact reception and they will put you through to the DTs.
As always, we will continue to remain positive and endeavour to work to the best of our abilities to ensure the health and highest care of our residents at all times. We have faith that the New Year will bring much hope, renewed light and a new beginning for all of us. We will also continue to inform you of any changes and updates that occur.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact myself or Virginia Mitchell, our Facility Manager, via the Nursing Home Reception on (02) 4752 2500.
