COVID-19 Update - Visitation

30 Mar 2022

Dear Relatives and Friends of Buckland,

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time. Earlier today we received the risk assessment from the public health unit, and we are pleased with the outcome.

Visitation for residents that reside in LRW (bed numbers 97-108 & 41-64), DCW (beds 1-40) and MRW (beds 109-144) will recommence ASAP with the previous conditions of entry and a maximum of two visitors per resident per day. Residents in DCW, LRW and MRW are free to leave their rooms and utilise common areas as they please.

TBW as a wing will remain in lockdown, however COVID-19 negative Residents are able to leave their rooms and staff will ensure social distancing is adhered to. If you wish to visit someone in TBW please call us and we will make safe arrangements for you to do so. Entry to the facility for visitations in TBW will be facilitated through a side entry and visitors will be required to wear a full set of personal protective equipment including impervious gowns.

Spot checks are also conducted regularly to ensure that Infection Control Procedures are adhered to. All residents will be closely monitored by our staff on duty for any signs or symptoms they may develop. Residents are encouraged to wear a mask and to practise social distancing

Thank you all again for your continued understanding and patience. We know how difficult and tiresome this is for all of you, and we too look forward to further progression and positive outcomes.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me via the Nursing Home reception on (02) 4752 2500. Please stay safe.

Kindest Regards,

Virginia Mitchell
