Covid-19 Update
Dear Residents, Relatives and Employees of Buckland,
We would like to provide you with an update on our most recent covid exposure within the facility.
One resident within the Thomas Buckland Wing (TBW) has tested positive for covid19 who is currently stable with ongoing monitoring. A round of Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) was completed in TBW today, all tested returning a negative result.
Additional to the covid case we also have a total of three residents in Matton Rothery Wing (MRW) with Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV RNA), who are also recovering well and currently stable. This virus is non reportable however ongoing routine observation and assessment remains in place for the affected residents.
As a precaution all staff and visitors are required to wear a surgical mask whilst in the facility due to the increase in respiratory virus within the facility and the rising rate in respiratory illnesses within the community.
To minimise the risk of spread we strongly encourage staff and visitors to regularly wash their hands and make use of the hand sanitizers that we have around the facility.
Should you develop any cold or flu-like symptoms please do not enter the facility.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us on (02) 4752 2500
Warmest Regards,
Pearson Kasawaya
General Manager
