Covid-19 Update
Dear Residents, Staff and Representatives,
We are committed to keeping you informed about health matters within facility and would like to update you as of today the 11th of June.
At present we have 3 x of Covid19 and 1 x Respiratory Syncytial virus (RSV) cases within the facility.
- 2 residents in the TBW wing have tested positive to covid.
- 1 resident in the LRW wing has tested positive to covid and is currently receiving care in the hospital.
- 1 resident in the DCW wing has tested positive for RSV
Residents in the TBW and LRW wings are undergoing 2nd daily Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) to monitor and quickly identify any new cases. A round of Rat tests were completed today with an additional case in TBW and nil further cases in LRW.
In response to these cases and the high community transmission rates, we have commenced the following measures to mitigate risk, by temporarily suspending facility wide gathering and activities. In wing activities are being conducted by our Diversional Therapy (DT) team to maintain engagement while minimizing cross contact.
Where we can we are cohorting Staff, assigning them to specific wings to reduce cross infection and further mitigate risk. Staff rooms have now been designated to the wings to further reduce cross over and infection.
All staff are required to wear N95 masks and face shield/goggles within the facility, along with completing a daily RAT before entering the facility.
We request that our Visitors wear surgical masks and also undergo RAT testing upon entry please, N95 masks are available if you wish to use one of these whilst in the facility.
We continue to hold daily Outbreak Management Plan (OMP) meetings and are working closely with our Infection Control Lead and Public health Unit (PHU) to ensure that best practices are followed.
HEPA filters remain operational in both TBW and LRW wings and we continue to encourage increased ventilation throughout the facility.
We understand the challenges these precautions may pose and appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we prioritize the health and safety of our community.
Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact the facility on 4752 2500.
Thank you and stay safe and well.
Kind Regards
Katie Butler-Whitmore
