Covid-19 Update

Dear Residents, Staff and Representatives,

We would like to update you as of today the 23rd of June.

At present we have 1 x of Covid19 cases within the facility; 1 x resident who remained is in isolation in DCW awaiting PCR results and 1 x resident in TBW with flu symptoms – nil confirmed respiratory virus.

TBW remains as a RED zone and all other wings are now green zones.

Residents in the TBW will continue undergoing 2nd daily Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) to monitor and quickly identify any new cases. A round of Rat tests was completed yesterday with nil further cases identified.

Our activities and exercise have commenced back to normal in the green zones, with TBW being limited, however, individual activities/exercise continues to be completed.

Where we can we are cohorting Staff, assigning them to specific wings to reduce cross infection and further mitigate risk. Staff rooms have now been designated to the wings to further reduce cross over and infection.

All staff are required to wear N95 masks and face shield/goggles within TBW and N95 mask in all other wings, along with completing a daily RAT before entering the facility – this is being monitored for compliance and if you have any concerns, please ensure to escalate this to the clinical management team.

We continue to hold daily Outbreak Management Plan (OMP) meetings and are working closely with our Infection Control Lead and Public health Unit (PHU) to ensure that best practices are followed.

We understand the challenges these precautions may pose and appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we prioritize the health and safety of our community.
