Influenza Update

Dear Residents, Relatives, Employees and Friends of Buckland,

We would like to inform you that unfortunately we have two residents that have tested positive for Influenza A. Both residents reside in the Liz Roberts Wing.

As a precaution and to minimise the risk of spread all Liz Roberts Wing resident activities and exercise classes will be taking place in the Liz Roberts Wing only. Our DT Team and Physiotherapists will liaise with the residents in relation to the plan.

We will be just symptom monitoring at this stage, no surveillance testing is needed at present and we are liaising with the PHU on a regular basis.

All staff working in the Liz Roberts Wing must wear a N95 mask at all times to minimise spread. All other staff as well as visitors will only be required to wear a surgical mask whilst in the facility.

We strongly encourage all staff and visitors not to enter the facility if they are feeling unwell or have any cold and flu symptoms as Influenza transmission remains high in the community.
