Outbreak Update
Dear Staff, Residents, Relatives and Friends,
We wish to advise you that unfortunately we now have Influenza A Exposure. We currently have 2 residents in isolation due to Respiratory Illness.
All staff and visitors are required to wear a surgical masks whilst in the facility and a full PPE including face shield when attending to isolated residents.
Group activities and exercise classes will continue as normal at this stage, however, please encourage all residents to maintain social distancing when attending social groups as well as to wear surgical masks and make use of the outside spaces where possible.
Residents are also permitted to have their meals in the dining room if they wish to do so, however the affected residents are encouraged to remain in their room with tray service.
I wish to remind all staff to remain vigilant of any resident/staff member/visitors feeling unwell or displaying flu symptoms and report to RN immediately. Should any residents begin to display flu-like symptoms, isolation for the resident must be commenced, with RAT test and PCR for all pathogens attended.
Staff that are symptomatic are advised to leave immediately / not enter the facility and attend to PCR testing for all respiratory pathogens. PCR testing for staff can be completed at the main entrance.
Please ensure strict compliance to hand hygiene and infection control policies and make use of hand gels provided throughout the facility. The management team will continue to conduct spot checks to ensure staff compliance to the proper infection control practice/use of PPE.
Kindly speak to anyone from the management team should you require further clarification or have any concerns regarding the above. We wish to thank everyone for all the hard work, and we appreciate everything you do for our residents.
Warm Regards
Buckland Clinical Management team
