Public Health Guidance
Dear Relatives and Friends of Buckland,
I am very happy to inform you all that Buckland has been deemed as a low-risk exposure by the Public Health Unit. Therefore, rules have significantly changed in the approach with Residential Aged Care facilities regarding staff exposures, positive cases and facility lockdowns.
Being deemed as a low-risk exposure means that the isolation of our residents will no longer be required. Instead, the residents will be monitored for symptoms and tested for COVID-19 if they present the symptoms.
We are waiting for more guidance from Public Health in relation to the lockdown and if it can be lifted for all visitors to enter the facility. Until then, and at this point in time, residents are able to roam around the facility and all activities will resume to pre-hard-lockdown arrangements.
In addition to this, we were also classified as a low-risk exposure due to the PPE that staff are required to wear when providing care to each resident. We are pleased with this development and very happy with the outcome. Hence, staff will continue to wear the high level of PPE indefinitely.
It is very refreshing and hopeful to receive new guidance and we hope you all feel the same. Your support, patience and understanding has not gone unnoticed and we are very grateful to you all. We will continue to inform you of any updates we receive.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me via the nursing home reception on (02) 4752 2500.
