Refurbishment Update & Commission Visit
Dear Relatives and Friends of Buckland,
Another week has passed and we are very fortunate to remain free of COVID-19. The new daily Rapid Antigen Testing regime for all employees, contractors and visitors has been very successful to say the least.
Following a meeting with our builder earlier today, I would like to take the opportunity to update you on the progress of our refurbishment.
I am pleased to advise that the new dining areas at the studio apartments will be handed over to us on Wednesday 16th February. We are looking to hold a small COVID safe opening celebration for residents of the studio apartments in the newly refurbished area with Happy Hour on the 16th.
The installation of the new third lift has also been completed, however the person responsible for commissioning the lift has been diagnosed with COVID-19 and will not be able to commission the new lift until Friday 25th of February. Please note that the new disability friendly ramp can be utilised to move between levels for the time being.
I would also like to advise that the Aged Care Quality and Safety commission will be onsite this afternoon to assess Buckland against the 2019 Aged Care Standards. If you wish to speak with the agency, please notify reception. We are excited about the visit as it provides us with an opportunity to evaluate our service delivery and to potentially identify opportunities for further improvement.
Please remember, COVID is still prevalent in the community and I urge you all to socially distance, wear a mask when interacting with others and isolate if you have any symptoms.
I wish you all a good and safe weekend ahead.
