22nd November 2021
Dear Friends and Relatives of Buckland,
As you are aware, we currently have on going refurbishments occurring in our Donald Coburn Wing and Liz Roberts Wing. We are coming to the end of the first stage and we would like to advise of our current updates on the progress so far.
We are still awaiting occupancy certificates from the council however, expecting them later this week. Once we have received the certificates, we are able to announce a date for the opening of the newly refurbished and completed stage 1. We are excited to see what the residents and visitors think of this new communal space that will give a peak into what is still to come for the rest of the refurbishment. We will also be opening up one of the new dining areas located near the lounge as well as the new lower studios dining and sitting area. A new lift will also be installed in this section to allow more accessibility between the upper and lower studio rooms.
After the opening of the main lounge, we will be transitioning to the next phase of the refurbishment which includes renovating eight of the Liz Roberts Wing studio rooms. Four new rooms have been created in the first stage, which will be used for dedicated respite stays in the future, but for now will be used to house residents while their rooms are being worked on. The remaining four residents will be relocated to other vacant rooms around the facility. This stage will also include the refurbishment of the LRW upper studio dining room.
Commencing as of today, we have a new Building Liaison Officer, Daniel Attias. Daniel is an existing employee of Buckland and will be taking on this exciting role. Daniel will be available to answer any questions in regards to the refurbishment during normal business hours which are Monday to Friday 0800AM-4:30PM on the Nursing home reception (02) 47522500 or on 0478686233.
On Thursday the 25th of November at 2:30pm in the Nursing Home Main Lounge, a meeting for all residents and relatives will be held to inform and discuss the refurbishments. This will give residents and relatives the opportunity to ask questions and to advise of any updates in relation to the refurbishments.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact myself on (02) 4752 2500.
Please stay safe and well.
