Dear Residents, Relatives and Friends of Buckland,
As you know, on advise of the Department of Health, Buckland has been in lockdown since late June. We remind you all that we continue to remain in contact with the Department of Health on a daily basis to ensure we are adhering to the correct policies and procedures.
This being said, under the current public health order, visiting another person is deemed as not being a reasonable excuse to leave the home. Socialising also falls into this category and isn’t a reasonable excuse to have visitors except for - if you are a regular care giver (assists with feeding etc.) or for compassionate reasons (palliative care).
We want to remind you that while we continue to enable window visits, we strongly advise these not be conducted except under extraordinary circumstances. Given the severity of the highly infectious Delta strain of the COVID-19 virus, we feel it’s in the best interest of all our residents and staff members.
Skype calls, zoom meetings, WhatsApp and all other message medias are readily available and are a great, safe way to remain in contact with your loved ones. Additionally, we assure you that all inhouse activities and daily routines will continue as usual with the correct infection control procedures in place.
We understand that this is a very difficult and frustrating time, so we thank you for your cooperation and understanding as you support us in our duty of care towards our residents, ensuring they remain safe and well.
Please don’t hesitate to contact management if you are unsure of any of the above. Additionally, you can always contact me on (02) 4752 2500.
Stay safe and well,
Chief Executive Officer
